It's Mer-mania in SMTX! Stop by the Gallery to get your one-of-a-kind art patches. We have mermaids, octopus and a sweet little sea dragon to choose from. 218 Artist Carol Schwartz drew the images and several 218ers got together to screen, cut and sew these up just in time for Mermaid Week. Add them to a t-shirt, jean jacket, tote bag or anywhere that needs to be more mer-tastic.
Twelve area artists have come together to create the vibrant, artist-owned 218 Co-op Gallery. Housed in one of SMTX's historic downtown buildings, the gallery’s vintage brick and plaster walls provide a warm backdrop for the eclectic mix of art, jewelry, sculpture and functional wares. Part gallery shop and part exhibit space, the folks at 218 are working hard to create a venue where you can see, experience and buy quality, hand crafted pieces. Keeping things truly local is our goal.
